A refined, ocean-inspired wedding story on Nova Scotia’s South Shore.

A beautiful vision by the sea, Lauren and Micah’s intimate coastal wedding editorial unfolded against the breathtaking backdrop of Nova Scotia’s South Shore. Set at the iconic Quarterdeck Resort, the day was filled with soft blue tones, nautical textures, and timeless seaside elegance — the kind of atmosphere where you can almost smell the salt air drifting in from the ocean. - The White Wren

This editorial, as seen in The White Wren, was designed to feel both elevated and deeply personal, blending coastal inspiration with meaningful details that reflected the heart behind the design.

A Coastal Vision Rooted in Meaning

“I’ve missed creating more than I realized,” shared Stephanie of Sky's The Limit as she placed a delicate sea urchin shell atop a hand-torn, texture-rich wedding menu from Paper Chain . That moment set the tone for the entire editorial — intentional, layered, and deeply connected to place.

The stationery suite felt like a piece of art, echoing the movement of the ocean through soft colour, organic edges, and tactile elements. Each detail was thoughtfully chosen to complement the natural beauty of the seaside setting at Quarterdeck Resort.

Ocean-Inspired Details & Thoughtful Design

The sea urchin shell, later echoed atop the wedding cake, became a quiet but powerful symbol within the design. Pulled from a personal collection, it represented the idea of bringing a piece of oneself into the creative process — a reminder that the most meaningful weddings are shaped by story, not trends.

The tablescape was simple yet layered, allowing texture and colour to speak without overpowering the space. Coastal tones, natural materials, and refined styling worked together to reflect the surrounding landscape while maintaining a timeless, editorial feel.
