Nestled in the heart of Virginia’s horse country, Middleburg, Virginia is a town that feels almost tailor-made for equestrians. Known for its rolling countryside, historic charm, and deep ties to the horse world, it’s a place where the sport is woven into everyday life.
After nearly two years without traveling internationally, having a reason to leave the country again felt incredibly exciting. When I learned that Hart Equestrian was hosting the first Equestrian Industry Insider Event, I immediately knew it was something I didn’t want to miss.

The Equestrian Insider Event in Middleburg Virginia
The event was organized in collaboration with Cardinal Marketing and held at the beautiful Mortgage Hall Estate — a historic property that perfectly reflects the elegance and tradition of Middleburg’s equestrian community.
Set against the backdrop of Virginia’s countryside, the gathering brought together a wide range of professionals from within the equestrian industry. From designers and brand owners to photographers and creatives, it was an opportunity to connect with people who share the same passion for horses and the businesses that support the sport.
Exploring Downtown Middleburg
One of the highlights of the event was meeting and watching guest photographer Georgina Preston in action. Throughout the day she captured professional headshots for attendees, including equestrian designer Lindsay Hunter Design., creating a lively and collaborative atmosphere that felt both creative and welcoming.
Beyond the event itself, the trip offered a chance to explore more of what makes Middleburg such a beloved destination for horse lovers.
The following morning, I spent time wandering through the charming downtown streets of Middleburg. The town’s historic storefronts, cozy cafés, and equestrian boutiques make it easy to understand why so many riders and foxhunters consider this area the heart of Virginia’s horse country.

Before heading to the airport, I also had the opportunity to spend a little time with Sabrina, the owner of Mortgage Hall Estate. Walking the grounds and hearing more about the property added another layer to the experience, offering a glimpse into the history and character that make estates like this so special.
The trip itself was brief — just 48 hours — but it was packed with memorable moments, meaningful conversations, and new friendships within the equestrian community.
Middleburg has a way of leaving a lasting impression, and I’m already looking forward to returning in the spring for the next Equestrian Insider event.
