In between photographing horse shows in Wellington, Florida, I had the chance to experience something new — my very first polo match.

While visiting friends for the weekend, we made a spontaneous decision to head over to the beautiful National Polo Center for the Sunday afternoon match. Wellington is known around the world for its incredible equestrian community, and polo is a huge part of that culture during the winter season.

Watching polo live for the first time was such an exciting experience. The speed, athleticism, and teamwork between horse and rider make polo one of the most thrilling equestrian sports to witness in person. The energy on the field, combined with the elegance of the polo ponies, made it an unforgettable afternoon.

As an equestrian photographer, I loved capturing the intensity of the match — from powerful galloping horses to the precise moments when players strike the ball. Polo is such a unique blend of sport, tradition, and lifestyle, especially here in Wellington where the polo season attracts riders and spectators from around the world.
